Decompression Diving

The SSI Decompression Diving program provides divers with the training required to plan and conduct no-stop limit extended range dives and limited decompression dives within recreational limits.

Divers will learn to:

• Plan and conduct decompression dives independently within SSI standards

• Dive to a maximum depth of 40 meters

• Use nitrox blends up to 40% oxygen

• Manage a maximum of 15 minutes of accumulated decompression time (based on back gas profiles)

• Dive with an equally or more qualified buddy

Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 16 years old

• Minimum 24 logged dives

• Required certifications: Deep Diving, Enriched Air Nitrox (up to 40%)

Program Structure

• Duration: 2 days

• Academic sessions

• 1 confined water session

• 3 open water dives
